If there are no estate assets does a will have to be executed or even read? Does the lawyer have to be contacted?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

Wills never have to be formally "read". That's a dramatic thing from the movies. The estate has to be probated, but if there's nothing in it...nobody much cares.
