What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Calif

I understand that Calif has a form that can be filed, requesting that a small and uncontested estate be exempt from probate. My mother had a Will, but no living trust, and everything should pass to her spouse.

If true, what is the form/process called ?

Thank you !

You may want to take a look at this site. It is Santa Clara county, but most of the info is applicable to any CA county:

Look for the "Simplified Probate Procedures" link in the page's left hand pane.
