My cousin was arrested for tresspassing at HIS house! He thinks his roomate called the police so he could steal my cousins stuff. The cop did not let him show ID, a rental agreement, or even lock his bedroom door or truck. He refused to plead guilty so he went through 5 Public Defenders because they didnt want to do the work of proving him not guilty. He served 80+ days and then finally gave in. When he got out EVERYTHING he owned was gone. The house was vandalized and there was a lot of trash, but nothing of his was left. Even his truck was stolen. What can he do? Can he find out who called the police? Can he sue the Orange County Police Dept.?
Also, they stole his wallet with his ID and now he has a warrant out. The court will not tell us what the warrent is for or when it is from so he can bring proof that he was in jail or at work. They said he has to go down there. He KNOWS it was the persona who stole his ID who has the warrant out, but he doesnt want to go there to find out and be taken into custody. What are his choices?
