What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? RI

Back in 1999 I paid a dentist $2500 in advance for upcoming dental work. After having about $250 of work done, I had 3 straight appointments cancelled by the dentist, so I decided to switch practices. I never got a refund from the money I paid up front and eventually forgot about it until recently. I contacted the state figuring the money would have to be turned over as unclaimed property, but that never happened. Is there anyway I can get that money back even though it has been 11 years?

Do you still have a copy of your written contract?
If so, you may be in luck since your state has such a long statute of limitations on written contracts.
