Question, I have a friend someone very close to me who got in trouble a few months back. Long story short, both her parents had died so she decided to get away from everyone for a bit. Friends and even family, she just wanted to be by herself. She moved away, got a job at a casino and stayed at a hotel nearby.

She ran into some people, some she knew some she didn't. Those people brung lots of drugs, Cocaine and started using in her hotel. One day, cops had busted all of them but her. She was not there at the scene but the drugs were inside her hotel. She was not originally charge, they did however want to talk to her. She did get an attorney. She is not being charged with possession and intent to sell. Max sentence is 10 years... a plea bargain was offered for 2 years. The people who got charged took the plea. She didn't and intends on fighting it all.

They have one person who will testify for her saying that she had no involvement on selling. However my question is on her using. Would she get in trouble for that? Seems like YES, if so what can I expect? The district attorney have people to testify against her, I believe it will be the other people who got busted as well.

This also would be her first offense if that helps.

If her attorney says its best to take the plea, then she should take the plea.

If she wants a trial, its going to cost alot more in legal fees.

So to update, they didn't take the plea, they are fighting it and yes you are right it does cost a lot more.

My question is what are they're chances of winning. I'm confident, they'll win that she didn't intend to sell. But her using...meaning possesion. However she wasn't busted at the time of the scene. Thoughts? Questions?
