Michigan.
I live in Illinois, The driver of our car got pulled over driving through Michigan. The officer walked to the window and asked for registration and said that we were speeding, we weren't, we knew he was behind us and we had the cruise set, he claimed we were doing 78 in a 70 on i94, but instantly said he wasn't issuing a ticket, just to slow down. I had a little over a 1/4 ounce in my bag. He asked where we were coming from..Once we said we were musicians, the search was on, he claimed it smelled like marijuana to cover himself, I had the MJ inside a mason jar, which was inside a lock n' lid sealed Tupperware It didn't smell one bit.. Regardless, he found it, issued me a ticket for Possession of Marijuana. Offense Code: 3562
Can some one give me some advise one what to do? I have called the court today and yesterday, and they have no information yet, and told me to call back in a couple days.
This is my first ever offense, I don't even have a traffic record. I am 25 years old, we took this marijuana as payment from a club owner in ohio because he couldn't afford to pay us cash, I normally do not even come near the stuff, but thought it was better to be walking away with something rather than nothing (sounds stupid I know, especially now)
I took the rap for it, as it was inside my bag.
I cannot exactly afford a $4000 lawyer or anything like that, I am hoping that I am eligible for the 7411, even though I am from out of state.
If I get probation how will it work since I live 4 hours away?
