Homeowner fighting annexation (California)

I'm seeking Federal or State laws, statutes, ordinances, codes and legal precedents to defend the rights of an unincorporated suburban residental area to remain an "island community". Can you direct me?

I would suggest a consultation with an attorney or three. Your question is beyond the scope of this forum.

The answer will be political and not legal. Better start organizing as the county really wants all areas to be incorporated and it is just a matter of time unless the unincorporated area fights it at the ballot box. Attorneys will only be a delay mechanism. (Demanding environmental impact reports and the like.)
