Hello. I applied for a loan cancellation through my college in California. They had cancelled/forgiven about $18,000 during a two year period. When I applied for cancellation of remaining balance, i was contacted and told that I had not originally qualified for the cancellation at all and they applied the amount cancelled back into my balance. Is this legal? any advice on what to do?

Did you ever sign an agreement cancelling the original amount a couple of years ago?
