if i am a passenger in a car, and the person gets pulled over for a traffic violation and the cop asks for my id and or for a verbal reply of my name and adress, do i have to abide? for i heard that if one is not under arrest, or under suspicion for any crime they have the right to reply something like "am i under arrest? no? well then, with all due respect sir, i wish to then practice my rights by law and not give you any information about my person." is this true? and if so, could they then "take me to the station" for being uncorroperative, even though it is my right to not answer?
