What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

I have an idea for starting a business/ministry teaching people how to keep journals for the goal of improving their mental and spiritual health. I'd like to just advertise and start with a workshop, either at my home or in a public place, and take offerings instead of having a fee. Is this legal? What would I have to do to call myself a non-profit? Can I use a .org web address if I'm not officially a non-profit? Can I put a PayPal donation button on my website if I'm not officially a non-profit?

One cannot call themselves a non-profit if they are, um, making a profit.

You are a business. Even if you had organized as a 501(c)(whatever), the money would be unrelated to the purpose and would be income. (Subject to UBIT.)
