Is it legal to have affiliate checks sent from Amazon to a relative's house in Indiana? They will have my name on them. I live in North Carolina and I plan to register my sole proprietorship here, an online business. My bank is also in North Carolina and I will report self-employment income in NC as well. My relative will mail me the checks from Indiana to deposit into my bank account.

Please advise if it would be preferable to open a bank account in Indiana and pay taxes there in addition to my family income taxes in NC. I am starting a new business and I want to be sure I am abiding by the law.

Thank you for your advice!
