But basically, he's obliged to pay ONLY what he's ordered to pay, even if it's $20/month.

If you want to modify the order, you'll need to go back to court.

Firstly, if there is a current order in NY , you would need to petition for a modification .

It would usually go by the date of filing .

If there is no order in place ,you'd need to petition the court for child support ,and the amount ordered would go by the filing.
