Ohio. My son's father requested both shared parenting & establish child support order. Will he have to pay "backpay" additionally or can I request it if i've never filed for support before?

Support orders generally start at the date of your support hearing.

How old is the child?

He will be 5 at the court date.

Back support is not guaranteed in Ohio.

Especially if you never bothered to pursue it before. It's not a "bank" where a parent can "cash in" whenever they feel like it.

It is often the date of filing rather than the date of the hearing.

If it's through a CSEA, it's date of hearing. At least that's been my experience.
