Nope.

Parents are obligated to support their children, not legal strangers.

Not only can joint accounts have liens put against them, CSEA can and will seize Federal Tax refunds from people filing Joint-Married when one spouse is in arrears with CS. :cool:

If a couple file a joint return and the non-support-owing-spouse files an Injured Spouse form, then the IRS will divvy up the tax return accordingly.

What happens is if the OP can PROVE that the non-paying parent is hiding their income and assets under the guise of it belonging to the spouse. But, that can require more money than most parents can afford.
