Are there any legal problems with starting a baseball
newsletter or website with editorials & news about professional sports teams if you DON'T use the licensed logo? For example, a fan page devoted to your favorite team with your thoughts on the season (text only).

Can you use the team or player names as part of the written
comments, so long as you don't use any licensed photos or logos? What about stats from your local paper?

If you can't, I'm wondering...
There are thousands of sports publications and journalists out there, do all of them have to get permission to publish? Do journalists have special exemptions in this area? Where would you go to get necessary permission if needed?

Any difference between free online sports news or
printed newsletter mailed to paying subscribers?

Are you allowed to use photos from events that you've taken for yourself of players or games from the stands?
