What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ANY

Is it possible to combine a dating site and a job board on one domain legally? Because job boards are meant for 13+ and dating sites are meant for 18+, how should we address this conflict? Is there anything we should legally do, state to possibly mash these sites into one?

Any advice is highly appreciated.

TIA

**A: yes there is a lot that can be done. Split the site into 2 sections with separate access rights.

Yes, the site will be in 2 sections - job board on the main site (eg: IANA — Example domains) and the dating site on a subdomain (eg: date.example.com) with a common menu for both, like so:

Job Seekers | Employers | Dating | Login

We notice that dating sites do not have any access rights or password protected pages except on the terms-of-use page that indicate the age restriction. Here are some examples from a few dating sites from their terms of use pages:

"You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if it is older), and at least 18 years old to register for the Services. By using the Singles Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old"

"You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and single or separated from your..."

Our site would have the same look and feel when the user visits any these sections. How do we make sure the user knows which section he is visiting? Do we have to place the warnings on all dating pages or is it adequate that we include the restrictions on just the terms of use page? If the user clicks a dating page link, he/she is already on the page before they see the warning. But again, this is the same with any dating site - they have warnings only in the terms pages - the links to which are in the footer.

Please advise...

Thanks!

This reminds me of a time I saw a sign in front a house that said "small engine repair - tax preperation".

"You know Jim, you did such a good job fixing my weed wacker, I'm gonna let you do my taxes".

For most people's situations, small engines are a lot harder than taxes.

(Especially in some areas, merely being literate in English and able to talk in the native language of the customer is qualification enough.)

The idea is to re-use job-seeker base data and facilitate match-making by occupations but in a completely different section. If you are a programmer and want a programmer wife, you could search in IT occupation category which makes search narrower and easier instead of having to wade through several listings. Similarly a tax preparer may like to look for engine repairer match which will be possible.

Our guess is people looking for jobs or who are already married will use only the job board section and may set their profile as job-seeker only listing. People looking for a match likely already have a job and want to find a perfect match in their preferred occupations to settle down in life. These people could set their profile either way.
