Is company financially liable

I am needing to know, if a place of employment doesnt carry worker's compensation, are they financially responsible when an employee is injured on the job? This is in Tennessee.

Call your State's workers' compensation commission. I do believe that, by law, every business must carry workers' comp. insurance unless they self-insure. If they self-insure, then they are responsible for the medical costs, lost time from work, etc. that result from any injury at the workplace. In any event, companies are not suit proof and if they do not carry workers' comp., they are just plain "penny wise, pound foolish" and you can sue them for your injuries.
