I received a parking ticket in a suburb right outside of
Chicago, Hometown, IL. I received a parking ticket while visiting a Women's Workout World.

I noticed an earlier posting from someone who also received
a ticket in Hometown, and it sounds very similar to mine.

However, I ignored mine because there was no NO PARKING sign or anything! It was in a busy parking lot and I parked in an empty space. It was not a HANDI-CAPPED space either. I was annoyed because I didn't feel I should have gotten it in the first place. I've always paid parking tickets in the past, but didn't pay this one. They've sent
me letters and I've ignored them, and now it's going to collections!

Do they usually call people's houses. What happens?

The letter says I can settle for $175, if I pay now within
15 days.

I do not have a record of unpaid parking/traffic tickets.
