i received a speeding ticket on memorial day in florida. due to a major accident caused by extreme smoke, i was diverted from the interstate to an alternate route, where the ticket was issued. the posted speed limit was 35 mph. the officer says i was going 49 and the ticket says he got me with laser. i realize that laser is very accurate but i don't believe i was going that fast. i was not familiar with the area and was looking for another entrance back onto the interstate. i had already missed one entrance, so was extremely cautious not to miss another. i have a friend who was also in the car and can't see how i was going that fast. how valuable will my witness be in court and do i have a chance at getting the ticket thrown out?
