I was stopped in a road block in New York state for an expired registration (about 2 months overdue). Understandably, I received a ticket. Shockingly, however, my car was towed. My license, insurance and safety inspection were all valid. I explained that I am an itinerant teacher and was en route from one school to another.
None of this mattered -- the officer claimed that it was a blanket policy for expired registrations to be towed in that town.
I'm skeptical. Does this seem reasonable?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.
