i am 19 and living in alabama. i am dating a guy that lives over 100 miles away. he is 17 years old, but has been living on his own for over a year. i went and picked him up for the weekend this past weekend and even though he has not lived with his dad for more than a year, his father threatened to call the law, claim kidnapping or runaway, and force him to go back to the area where he lives. a friend told me that if he had been living on his own for over a year his father could do nothing like that, but i can not take my chances. i need to know before i pick him up for another visit. please help, i don't want to go to jail!
