My car was recently impounded. The tickets that led to this were on another car that had died and was donated to a State auction but got tickets while it was down. Instead of getting new tags, I just transfered them to my new car.
Now, that car has been impounded and they want an exorbitant fee to get it out which I can't pay. I just want to let them have the car and auction it off. My question is, will I still be responsible for the tickets or will I have trouble getting tags in a different state (my permanent address is in NC while I'm currently in MD, where the tickets and the impound happened)?
Any help would be great.
