i am in nc. when filling out a complaint for money owed and the defendant is a business with a registered agent whose name and address go in the defendant box. if the registered agent is in a different county, which small claims court do i file with?

My response:

Obviously, you're suing a corporation.

The only name that goes in the Defendant box is the name of the corporation.

The registered Agent is only the person designated by the corporation who receives "service of process" on behalf of the corporation. The Agent is not named, and jurisdiction (where to sue) depends upon the type of incident, which you never stated.
