In order for a child to be considered emancipated (as in no support will be paid by the NCP to the CP), that child must be at least 18, capable of supporting him or herself and not enrolled in school.

Otherwise, the CP will continue to pay support. If the child is in college, the court can order that the college expenses be paid, with a corresponding lessening in the support paid.
