If an independent contractor (a music teacher) has worked for 9 months with students from our company and decides to take the summer off and some of his students quit. Does he have the right to take them for himself when he returns? We did terminate his contract because he left without giving us proper notice. He did sign an agreement that the students are ours. Would this be considered fraud in the state of Florida if he takes our students?
