living alone at 17

I will be getting married in afew weeks and my son doesn't want to live with my new husband and I. I own a home in Pa. and was wondering if it would be o.k. for my son who is 17 to live in the house by himself? I will only be 2 minutes away. When he is 18 he would like to rent the house from me.
