We have a custom sewing/alteration business, specializing in bridal, and we are located in Ohio. A customer brought her wedding gown to us (purchased at a retail bridal shop) for alterations in June '99 and the work was complete by the end of July '99, with a total alteration bill of $173.00. The wedding was called off several days before the customer's scheduled day to pickup her gown from us. She made a payment of $20.00 to her alteration bill in September, and has made no further payments, nor had any contact with us since. The phone number we have for her is no longer a good number, and we do not have a good address for her either. It has now been 6 months that the gown has been in our store with no action. Our question is--do we have the legal right to sell this gown? Thank you!
