Hello,

My 17 year old son was recently sited for "Minor in posession of alcohol" in CA. If he is convicted/proven guilty he will lose his Driver's license for 1 year. Do I have any recourse? Any suggestions?

TIA

Thank CA

Normally I give legal advice, but in this case I will give another type. You have a great option. Support the state's decision and punish your son accordingly. Apparently the parents of the child are not parenting. If the state decides that this is a good course of action, I would have to agree. If he is drinking illegally now, things will just get worse when he begins to drive. In fact, thank the state. They are keeping a drunk driver off the road and probably saving your son's life.
