My husband has a 6 yr old son froma previous marriage. His ex had an affair and got pregnant while they were married. During the divorce,in NC, the lawyers told him that since he has raised this child since birth he is responsible for him since his natural father is not around. This is called the bas**rd law. Since then she and the child lives in GA. Does Ga have this same law. If not can the Divorce and support battle be moved to GA from NC? This women is making our marriage into a nightmare. The child does not want ot visit us because of the awful things his mother tells him about us. The idea of money is not the problem. Money is no object.

He is now the legal father. Changing states will not help. If he has no love for the child, then pay the CS amount and let the rest go. If he wants to have a relationship with the child, then collect proof of her obstruting his visitation and haul her ass into court.

first of get a paternity test to prove he aint his and youve got reason to do it but he shouldnt have also taken care of him because any child born in a marriage is a child of the husbands by law so get the proof and your good to go
