i had a child out of wedlock with a woman.we later married and she took my name.i am listed as father on birth certificate, but child is listed with her maiden name.we changed his social security card to reflect new name after marriage.i was told i had to pay $200.00 and list in newspaper to change his name legally.
how can i change name without large costs ? should he have been listed with her name on birth certificate if I was listed as father?
