As parents in New York State our 19 yr old is not a student.
He does not have health benefits at work. If he gets sick and has a bill he does not pay are we financially responsible for that since he lives in our house. How does this apply in other situations financially until he is 21?

I AM ALWAYS LIABLE

My response:

At age 18, he became an adult - - by law; and certainly not by virtue of his brain power however.

As such, and despite where he's living, he's the responsible party for his own bills - - not you.
