I live in California, San Mateo county.
I sued someone for $4500 and won. After months of trying to collect, I finally settled for $800. Teh defendant wrote me 2 checks for $400 each. She said that funds will be available for the second check on the first of the month. I went to cash the check, and no funds available. Obviously, suing this person will do me no good.
I would like to put this person in jail, or at least have a valid threat from the police stating such.
Does anyone know how I can easiliy press criminal charges for this? And, will it do me any good?
Thanks,
