handicapped parking ticket

I was parked on a public university parking lot with the university handicapped sticker that did not expire for seven months. The handicapped sticker I got from DMV had been expired for two weeks. they were both showing. I was given a ticket for parking in the handicapped space because of my expired DMV sticker, but I had a campus handicapped sticker still good. Can I fight this ticket and win?

Probably not because most areas require a current DMV sticker as a requirement to obtain the school one.
