Atlanta,Ga. I purshased a 2000 Chevy Silverado Z71
from a local dealership. I also ran a Carfax report
before I purchased the truck. The report was clean.
I accuired financing through the credit union.
Three weeks later I received a call from the dealership asking me to come in to sign some paperwork.
When I arrived and read the paperwork they wanted me
to sign I became furious. It was a package from the
General Motors reaccquired vehicles division.
The truck was purchased for a commercial lease for
1 year by a peanut company. The frame on the truck
broke at 4000 miles and was reaccquired by GM.
It was then repaired and sold at auction.
The letter from GM stated that the dealership was by
law to disclose this information to me before I purchased the truck. I refused to sign the papers and told them
I want my money back and they can keep the truck.
I also got a refund from carfax for not having the
correct information on the vehicle. What are my rights
and options for something like this.
