I'm 18 from Michigan. My 15-year-old girlfriend lives in Onterio, Canada, so we keep in use the internet to keep in touch. We've also used the internet to have cyber sex. Can that be considered statutory rape, or child pornography, or any crime at that? And what type of crime would it be, state or federal? This is a bit of an odd situation, and your advice is appreciated.

I have no legal background or anything, but I don't think you will get in any kind of trouble, since there is no actual intercourse or pictures being tooken, etc.

Katie, do you know what the pornography laws are in Canada ?

Do you know what the Child Endangerment laws are in Canada ?

Do you know what the Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor laws are in Canada ?

I sure don't. So, please, stop giving hope where there may be none. Know before you speak.

Look, you people do not have to be as rude as you are. I was simply trying to help! I was sure to say that I had no legal back ground of any kind before I gave that person my advice. Don't be rude, that's horribly disrespectful to say to a person whom you don't even know. Try to be human for once.

Okay, so does anybody know about these laws that were mentioned? Child pornography, child endangerment, contributing to the deliquency of a minor. I looked up child pornography, and it sounds to me like if it was for hers and my personal use and not distributed or shown to anyone else, it's not in violation. I've no idea with the other ones. Someone care to help out?

And mistygirl, thanks for your input. I know you're not a lawyer, you're just trying to comfort me, and I can use that right now. Keep up the good work!

The rest of you, when replying, look at the red lettering above the box you type in. "When Replying to a message, please be considerate, respectful and polite. Remember, there is a human being on the other side of that computer screen"
