In another thread n2happy brought up a good point regarding "feel good" laws and that's a good topic all by itself.

I want to talk about some of the feel good laws. In Texas, starting September 1st one will be charged with a felony on a 2nd dwi offense. The punishment carries the same penalty as MANSLAUGHTER. That's a prime example of a feel good law.

If a white man shoots a white man, that's murder and carries one sentence. However, if a white man shoots a black man, that can be considered a "hate crime" and the penalty is more severe. They way I see it, if one commits murder, the penalty should NOT differ due to race. Another prime example of a "feel good" law.

Tell us about some of the other "feel good" laws that you know of.
