i was driving in new mexico this weekend, and passed two motorcycle police on radar on the opposite site of the interstate. after i passed them, i flashed my headlights (it was the middle of the day) to a few cars in opposing traffic to tell them to slow down. i then saw a state police car coming in the opposing traffic, he turned on his lights, jumped the median and pulled me over. he told me he could give me a ticket for careless dirving, but he gave me one for "prohibited acts" instead. can i really get a ticket for this? if i made people slow down, wasn't i actually helping out by making the road a little safer???
