My boyfriend received a DWI in April, 2001 and blew a .21. Since his court date he has been "authorized" to have an interlock device installed on his car for one year. Because of the cost and the fact that he can get a ride to and from work, how can he "park" his car for one year without dealing with the ridiculous stipulations and costs of having an interlock device installed (It is $179. for the installation and $106 bi-monthly for "calibration"). Can't he just turn iin his tag for a yeaar and refuse to drive?

Thanks for any input. (We reeside in Charlotte, NC)
