question is regarding use of public school facilites.
-several school affiliated booster organizations, athletes, etc. all share and use an athletic field and it's facilities located on public school property.
-everybody takes turns using the concession stand on this property to make money for their organization.
-some items in there were donated by community members (stove, refrigerator, coolers, etc.)
- the football boosters took it upon themselves to purchase some equipment in there-second hand deep fryers, freezer, etc. other organizations offered to help them purchase these but they declined stating"they own these items and can decide who can and cannot use them." They took up alot of space and also made it very crowded in there.
- they put locks on everything and are the only ones who have the keys to everything-both what was donated and what they purchased. they will only permit certain organizations access to this stand now and tell them what they may or may not use when they are in there.
- they have the keys to this stand and everything else on the field-the bathrooms, field house, etc. School district policy states that you may sign out the master keys from them for use by your organization but need to return them within 24 hours. they have had them for 18 months and refuse to return them even after being told to do so by administration.
- we have complained to the superintendant and school board to little avail. this is a small redneck town where friday night football rules. we are being held hostage by a group of "good ole' boys" . the superintendant stated that 'anything placed on school property belongs to the school district" but doesn't want to expend energy helping us to fair access to any of it.
- are there any laws that could prove that other organizations are being discriminated against by this misuse of public school property? do we have any legal recourse?
-this sounds very stupid and it is. however, this is major money for organizations-you can make several thousand dollars in one night .
- we all pay school taxes. why shouldn't we all have equal access to these facilities?

You need to go to your local city council and work with them and go from there. You work in conjunction with the Mayor's office and all will be okay. If that doesn't work, you talk to the FIELD DEPUTY of your LOCAL ASSEMBLY PERSON/LOCAL SENATOR/STATE SENATOR.
