My wife underwent a vaginal hysterectomy. Post-op care was awful. Her vitals were only checked 3 times during a twelve hour period. She had a catheter but never passed any fluid. The bag was empty when the doctor checked on her twelve hours after surgery. The nurses had not even noticed. Her blood pressure had dropped while her heart rate had increased, but the nurses didn't notice that either. When the doctor saw what was going on he checked her blood count which was down to 16 (normal is 35). She had been bleeding internally all day without the nurses noticing anything. After 4 hours of emergency surgery and 2 units of blood, her count was up to 25. The doctor was visibly upset with the nurses. He had a meeting with hospital officials the following day. She is OK now, but do I have a case against the hospital?

You should post this question in the medical malpractice forum as the lawyers that respond there would know more concerning this topic. Good Luck
