I have approached web companies with a new idea. I requested confidentiality before I elaborate on it.

One US company assured me via email that our mutual confidentiality is assured.

Is this sufficient protection for me to submit my proposal to them ensuring
confidentiality of my idea?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Could be as long as you have a written verification via email. BUt your best bet is to get a NDA (non disclosure statement).

You make them sign this prior to any talks with them. That way, if they misappropriate your stuff, they violated the NDA and can be sued for essentially taking your Intellectual Property.

My suggestion: try the freeadvice.com bookstore or the legal forms section
