I have first cousins who wish to marry. One lives in WI the other in MN. First, since they cannot marry in MN, can they marry in WI, and will the marriage be binding? (Insurance, retirement, Social Security, etc) And can they go to Canada and marry and will the marriage be binding in either State. They are most concerned about Minnesota because they plan on living there, and because the law will not allow them to be married in Minnesota, but it says nothing about the marriage being binding if they were married in a different place where it is allowed. Thanks for any info you can give me, that I can share with them.
