A company moved from our town. The new owners continue to use the companies' previous address on all correspondence, order blanks, letters.
Distraut customers travel great distances to this business, only to find a vacant building.
Is this practice legal?

I am not aware of any criminal or civil laws that are broken solely by using an old address. Unless there is some fraud or intent to fraud, it sounds pretty stupid to use an old address, but not illegal.

However, the people who 'travel great distances' might have a case for damages, but it would be stupid to even consider litigation.

The company, that our town's company was moved in with, has a very bad reputation. They want to be sure, that people don't associate the company from our town with theirs. So they fraudulently keep the old address--disillusioning customers to think they are where they are not!
Probably no laws on the books yet for this scenerio, but it is wrong! Kind of a "slap in the face" to the communities that they took jobs from.
