My bank took over $300.00 out of my checking account that wasn't theirs. It took me over 6 months to get it back and I had to go to a VP to have that done. I have since gone to the President of the branch to try to recover money for damages. This was a major inconvenience, it was their fault and it never should have taken so long. Has the bank broken any laws, should I get a lawyer to sue and for how much? It just seems to me that large corporations like this shouldn't be able to treat the general public in this way and not be punished for it.

Forget it. The damages seem to be 6 months interest, and the facts apparantly are unique to you.
