I have a cousin in CA who got two DUIs five years ago. He went schooling for the first one. On the second offense, he failed to show up in the hearing. Accordingly, the court notified him that a warrant is posted and he has to post a bail of $30 grand. Will he go to jail if he is arrested? How long would be the term if he decides to serve the jail time just to clear his records?

The court issued a warrant, that means yes, he is going to go to jail for failing to show up to court. as a result, he has now complicated his problem by adding additonal problems to the matter. I suggest he get an attorney, and let the attorney make arrangements and advise him on turning himself in and what to expect.
