I AM A 50% OWNER IN A SUB S CORPORATION. MY PARTNER AND I EACH OWN EQUAL SHARES IN THE CORPORATION. THE WORKING SITUATION IS BECOMING STRAINED AND I WANT TO KNOW MY OPTIONS AS FAR AS GETTING OUT OR GETTING CONTROL.
AM I ABLE TO SELL MY SHARES TO ANYONE I CHOOSE?
I REALIZE WE BOTH HAVE EQUAL SAY IN THE CORPORATION. CAN I SELL OR GIVE SOME SHARES TO MY WIFE TO ALLOW MORE VOTES ON MY SIDE AND THUS GAIN CONTROL OF THE BUSINESS?
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT PREVENTS ME FROM SELLING MY SHARES TO A COMPLETE STRANGER?
