I believe I have encountered what is called a negative option. Where and insurance premium is charged on with your tution if you do not check the box. Followed by supposed notification by mail if you did not check the box. This $115 fee is due and the cancellation date passed (11/1/2000) supposedly. We as parents of the dependant but not minor (18) child have never seen the notifications. Suggestions?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Contact the party to whom you should pay and let them know this is misreprensentation and that you never received confirmation of this choice nor any notification. As such, that portion of the contract is null and void.
