After a fight with husband I called the police, but do not want to press charges. I told them that, but still, I understand the police intend to issue me a subpoena and I want the whole thing dropped. How can I avoid the subpoena ( if at all???). I know once I am served I need to get a lawyer. But if I can just avoid getting it, will that help????

Are you going to avoid going to work and being at home indefinitely? If not, you can't "avoid being served." Are you sure you don't want to press charges? The police can't make you testify, that's true, but is there an underlying problem that you need to have addressed?
