Can someone legally post your name, address and phone number on a web site claiming that you are doing something against the law? A friend sold a beanie baby on yahoo auctions that she had bought at a flea market. She wrote in the ad, that she had purchased it at a flea market, and could not guarentee that it was, in fact, authentic. Now, some person has posted her name, address, and phone number on several web sites claiming that she is a counterfeit dealer. Can this be legal? Thanks

This does not sound criminal but may be civilly libel. Read the section on Libel and Slander on FreeAdvice.com -- also they are very hard cases to win.
