Hello,

I'm not sure if this question is being posted in the correct area but here goes. We are creating an awareness group in my area. Our concerns are with land development, environmental issues, roads and similar changes to our area.

We are tring to find out what the difference is between an organization, committee, group etc and the legal ramifications that we might incur.

We just finished stopping a rezoning of over 140 acres and feel we should stay together as an awareness group of some type.

Thanks for any assistance,

I believe what you're asking is how to formalize your group.

You can do this by incorporating (forming your own corporation).

Look into the idea of business entity formations.

It doesn't have to be a business, but incorporating can offer you some protections against liability, tax benefits, etc.
